Therefore, to prevent the entry, establishment and spread of exotic pests in India as per the provisions of the Destructive Insect & Pests Act, 1914. Plant Quarantine Station, Ahmedabad has been established in 2015 under the jurisdiction of Regional Plant Quarantine Station, Kandla at The Thar Dry Port, (ICD Sanand), Sanand- Kadi Road, Vill -Nidhrad, Near Muni Ashram, Sanand, Ahmedabad - 382 110, (Gujarat). Plant Quarantine Station, Sanand facilitates the Export certification of Plants & Plant Products (viz. Fresh Fruits/Vegetables (Perishable commodity), Seeds, Medicinal Herbs, Cereals & Cereals Products, Spices etc.) to various countries. Plant Quarantine Station, Sanand aim to facilitates import and export of plants and plant products in southern and northern.
There are 07 Notified ports nearby Plant Quarantine Station, Sanand (seaports of Hazira, Dahej; Inland Container Depot - ICD, Ahmedabad, Thar ICD, Sanand, ICD, Surat, ICD Tumb and one Internation airport Ahmedabad) for the purpose of export/import of Agriculture commodities / Plant and Plant Products meant for consumption.
