DOA – Gandhinagar Office was established under Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (DPPQ&S), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Govt. Of India Wide Notification No: 8 -97/91 – PP.I, Dt.26-11-1993.
India is a signatory member of International Plant Protection Convention, 1951 (IPPC) since 1956. Sanitary and Phytosanitary measures are harmonized under SPS Agreement of WTO. Plant quarantine office under its jurisdiction issuing the Phyto Sanitary Certificates (PSC) to exports the plants, plant products and other regulated articles to the exporting countries as per article IV & V of the IPPC.
The jurisdiction of this office covers Middle and North Gujarat districts namely Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Panchamahal, Dahod, ChotaUdaipur, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Arvalli, Mehsana and Patan.
