Plant Quarantine Station, Hyderabad has been functioning under the control of Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage, Ministry of Agriculture& Farmers Welfare, DAC&FW, Govt. of India, Faridabad. The PQS, Hyderabad started functioning in the campus of Central Plant Protection Training Institute, Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad from September , 1978 under the supervision of Director , CPPTI, Hyderabad and was separated from CPPTI ,during the Month of August 2000 Shifted to Air-cargo Complex, Begum pet Airport, Hyderabad . At present functioning in the premises provided on lease by the GMR, at Cargo Satellite Building, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, Hyderabad (T.S.).
The Station is actively engaged in screening the Imports at Hyderabad through ICDs and Airport.
It is providing the facilities for Export Certification to various Agriculture Commodities viz., Fresh Vegetables/Fruits/Flowers (Perishable commodity), Seeds, Medicinal Herbs, Cereals & Cereals Products, Spices etc. This Station is also maintaining the liaisoning with institutions like ICRISAT, NBPGR, NIPHM, APEDA, Spice Board etc. for export of their mandate crops, seeds and through different export facilitation programs.
