Plant quarantine Station, Calicut, Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare was established on 10th December 2011 at Air Cargo Complex, Calicut Airport, Karipur, Kerala, functioning under the control of Joint Director (E), Regional Plant Quarantine Station, Bengaluru, established for catering export and import demands of World Trade Organization (WTO) of the exporters and importers of the Malabar region, Kerala.

The exports are made to United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Kingdom, USA, Germany, Ireland, Malta etc. Major commodities exported are perishables like Fresh Vegetables, Fruits, Fresh Flowers, Spices & Condiments and Coffee.
