The Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Lucknow has established in 1991 under Directorate of Plant Protection Quarantine & Storage, NH-IV. Faridabad. It was earlier working as Central Surveillance Station from 1972 till it got established as Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Under Same Directorate. Currently, this station is in process of being elevated as Regional Centre of IPM for North Zone of India. Since its inception CIPMC has effectively launched and popularized the concept and culture of IPM (Integrated Pest Management) in agri-horticulture activities of the state with collaboration of UP State Agriculture Department. CIPMC Lucknow acts as a catalyst and model centre for promoting and introducing latest advancement of IPM technology on pest surveillance, production and supply of bioagents to state department as well as farmers besides imparting training on IPM technology to state Govt. officials, NGO’s, SAU’s scientists and farmers with field demonstration. During the year 2014-15 this station initiated to promote entrepreneurship among the farmers to raise their own facility to develop various IPM inputs like bio-agents, botanopesticides, Gomutra- based pesticides, sticky traps, etc, from their own local resources. These centres, known as ‘IPM Seva Kendra’ are developed by the self help groups of the farmers, in the premises arranged by themselves in the village.
