CENTRAL INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT CENTRE (CIPMC), JALANDHAR was set up by merging Central Plant Protection Station, Pathankot and Central Surveillance Station, Jalandhar in May, 1991. This is only central organization in Punjab which is performing the plant protection activities in the State. Since last 25 years CIPMC, Jalandhar had faced so many epidemic pest problem in the state and successfully managed (i.e. in 1995-2005 bollworm problem on cotton crop, in 2006-08 mealy bug problem on cotton, in 2008-15 yellow rust on wheat crop and in 2015-16 whitefly problem in cotton crop) all of these problem occurred suddenly and handled successfully by the centre. CIPMC, Jalandhar has very good liason with State Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, SAUs, KVKs and NGOs. Objective of this station is to create awareness regarding the I.P.M. programme and to overcome the above said problems.
